Victoria Beckham gave birth to her long-awaited little girl on Sunday morning (update)
This morning, David and Victoria Beckham became the excited parents (relatively speaking in Posh’s case, but word on the street is that she cracked half a smile) of a newborn baby girl. While the rumors of a Fourth of July c-section were off by a week, that certainly wouldn’t preclude all of the fittingly associated names that Kaiser suggested like “Firework” and “Philadelphia.” Of course, the couple has yet to announce the child’s name, but I’m sure that will come in time as will the predictably adorable photos of doting Daddy Beckham swinging his daughter around in the park; but first, the details:
Victoria Beckham finally has a little girl to dress up.
The pop star-turned-fashion designer and her soccer star husband David Beckham welcomed a daughter at 7:55 a.m. Sunday in Los Angeles
The parents of three sons – Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8 1/2, and Cruz, 6 1/2 – announced they were expecting a girl in March.
“Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family,” says Beckham spokesperson Jo Milloy.
The girl weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz., and was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. No name was announced.
In order to get ready for the new addition, Victoria, 37, had a pink-themed baby shower in May.
As if this little girl would have been stuck wearing blue hand-me-downs.
“Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon,” said David, 36, after the pregnancy was announced.

Congratulations to David and Victoria! What a relief it must be for them to finally welcome their little girl into the world. Another added benefit of all of this will be that now Victoria — who has kept a very low profile during this last trimester, only popping out for the royal wedding and Simon Fuller’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony — to finally step out again in full fashion regalia with her little girl all dolled up in a wardrobe that will put that of Suri Cruise to shame. Can you imagine how spoiled this girl will be? Ah well, her parents will probably preemptively knock her down a peg or two with one of their crazy place names. Personally, I’m voting for the kid to be called “San Fernando Valley.”
Update: Victoria and David have named their girl Harper Seven Beckham. Seems a little tame for their tastes, but that’s probably a good thing, right?
